Hello and welcome to my site. I am a ex-astronomer turned data scientist and run my own business called serenitec.
Since my astronomy days I have worked on a variety of projects through Serenitec, Science & Technology Corporation and IBM. In the last few years I have worked with manufacturers in the north of the Netherlands such as Philips and Fokker on "big data" in the form of system health and performance monitoring projects. Since I returned to Sydney in 2015, I have been involved in producing data-driven dashboards with predictive models in a number of market sectors (Marketing, Risk and Security).
My Ph.D. research at the University of Sydney looked at the role of mergers in the evolution of galaxies; further details can be found on the research tab above. Most of my research has involved numerical simulations and computational analysis of complex systems.
I believe that any system can be understood through analytical reasoning, a bit of abstract thinking and of course, diligence where it is due. I thoroughly enjoy using code to solve problems.
In my free time I enjoy playing video games, brewing craft beer and going to the gym (I'm aware the former cancel the later ☺). I also enjoy photography, travelling and toying around with home automation gadgets.
All opinions and comments that I share on this website are my own and don't represent my current or previous employers.
